So much for my October break! It’s only day 4 and I’m already feeling compelled to post! Oh, this crazy girl! :) Anyway, I’ve had this song on my heart all day. It’s been released for awhile, but it feels fresh to me right now. I love the chorus:
You are stronger,
You are stronger,
Sin is broken,
You have saved me.
It is written,
Christ is risen,
Jesus, You are Lord of all.
I’ve been thinking a lot about sin and oh, how we need to be broken over our sin! We need to accept responsibility for our own actions and quit placing blame elsewhere. And that is a hard thing to do, because we live among a world that glorifies and glamorizes sin, so I look pretty good in comparison.
But oh, we are desperate to set our eyes on Christ and when we do, there’s this freedom. He’s conquered, He’s risen, He’s stronger! It’s beautiful and perfect and the heart sings loudly a chorus like the one in this song. I hope you’re blessed and I pray that as we saturate ourselves in these lyrics, we our liberated and revived.
Blessings and love, dear friends!

Hi, I’m Jacqui, a wife and stay at home mama. I started this blog to share what God’s teaching me - how He’s changing me. It seems that most days I’m a little messy and broken. This is where I’m finding petals of grace. Beauty from ashes. Will you join me?

Took my breath away!! I just sat in silence & meditated on those powerful words & am speechless. God is working through you Jacqui & blessing us all as a result :) You made my day! Love you dear friend!!!!
Oh Kim, thank you! I’m so glad you were blessed by that; it’s one of my favorites right now! :)
Hi Jacqui,
Yes, to be broken over our sin…it is the first step in real healing…funny to read your post as this morning I was reading in Gen. 2 and 3 and how once sin entered so did the blame game…Eve blamed the serpent, and Adam blamed the woman, and indirectly God for giving him the woman…Great thoughts…it is a gift to be broken, and then to receive His grace anew with a new gratitude for His grace…yes, the doorway to more real intimacy with our dear God… hugs to you, my friend :)
Thank you Dolly. You always leave such kind and thoughtful comments and I appreciate them so much! Hope you’re having a great weekend. Hugs to you, too :)
I am all about worship. Loved this song and your insight. Praying that you find this break to be a time of refreshing and that you continue to post when He prompts you to share something. If He puts something on your heart then be assured that there’s someone, somewhere in need of what He’s placed on your heart. See you soon.
Yes, Diana! I love that God can use us in such a powerful way, even if we only touch one life…it’s a joy and an honor! And thanks for the encouragement. I do hope to enjoy this break, and get some great time writing privately! Blessings :)
This refrain is so powerful. So powerful! And, oh, to be broken over sin, to stop looking elsewhere for blameworthy folks, circumstances, situations. Once again, I am encouraged and convicted here in your little slice of the blogosphere. And I was blessed!
Thanks Missy! I am so guilty of looking to place blame elsewhere! I’m so glad God’s grace works in our hearts! Blessings friend :)
I’m so glad you shared this worship song. Just what I needed to hear. Thanks for posting. I’ve been thinking about sin too. ;)
Hi Jamie!! I feel like I’m usually thinking like you :) Love that we’ve been of the same mind lately! Love and blessings, friend! :)
Jacqui-
Once again you echo my heart. Yes, I am feeling so broken over my sin for the first time in my life. Instead of considering whether I am “good enough” I have embraced my brokenness. I am so aware of my desperate need for a Savior daily- and it is so good! Because when we confess, He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us. All praise to our God. Blessings on you sweet sister. Thank you for sharing this! :)
Rachel, it’s so good to be broken, huh! That’s where we receive healing! And when we’re desperate for Jesus, He meets us and fills us. Blessings to you, too! <3
