More Than Enough

Wearied and aching from a strenuous day, I read this prompt: enough.
The weariness exposes longing.
The ache reveals wanting.
Yet, I’m filled to the brim. I have enough.

I lay my head on my pillow knowing I will sleep well…the prompt swirling in my thoughts.
Satisfied with a day of hard work.
Content to partake in the fruit of my labor.

I realize God has made us to work.
He set the example when He created the world in six days.
On the seventh, He rested.
A pattern we should follow.

I awaken to a home rich with life:
Stocked cupboards, closets of clothing, a well that pumps our faucets with water.
I peer out the window and view vibrant color from flowers in bloom.
The sunshine feeding their growth.
A testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Seated to write this post, I’m infused with wonder.
The God of the universe so cares for me.
Humbled. Broken.
The weariness and the ache.
It’s all there to show me that He is more than enough.

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Matthew 6:28-30).

I’m linking up with a Lisa-Jo for a Five Minute Friday:
